Hi, I'm Goro. I build games, and I turn messy data into answers.

Games

Game development is what I do most. Here is the first project I’m showing off.

Barely a Driver

Pack your car, catch the witch, and keep talking.

  • Two-player co-op
  • Driving adventure
  • Game development

A two-player co-op driving adventure about two cursed brothers. One can see the road. The other can reach the wheel.

Calling a witch a “Broken Chopstick” turns out to be a terrible idea. One brother is now too tall to drive. The other can drive, but can’t see the road. Catch the witch, break the curse, and try to keep your car in one piece.

Prepare your car, choose what to pack, and talk your way across narrow crossings and shaky bridges. When things go wrong, a rope, a winch, and a little teamwork might get you moving again.

Made by two developers

Barely a Driver is developed by two people. I’m the level designer, and RykoTheDev handles everything else.

  • Level designerGoro

Designs the levels you drive through.

  • Everything elseRykoTheDev

Builds and develops all the rest of the game.

How the co-op works

Nobody has all the information. The brother who sees the road calls the route while the driver handles the wheel. Packing, repairing, and recovering the car give the pair more to do together than steer.

Calls the route

Can see every bend, gap, and drop ahead, but can’t reach the wheel. The only way to get the car across is to say what’s coming, clearly and in time.

Has
A clear view of the road
Missing
Any way to steer
  • Prepare the car

Choose what to pack before you set off. What’s in the car shapes what you can handle on the road.

  • Talk across crossings

Narrow crossings and shaky bridges only work when the route is called and the wheel answers.

  • Recover together

When things go wrong, a rope, a winch, and a little teamwork might get you moving again.

Nobody has all the information.

Data science

Alongside games, I work with data: finding the pattern, testing the idea, and explaining the result in plain language.

  • Analysis & visualization

Exploring datasets and turning them into charts people can read at a glance.

  • Machine learning

Building and evaluating models that answer a specific question.

  • Data pipelines

Cleaning, shaping, and automating data so the analysis can be trusted.

Selected data projects will be added here.

Let’s make something.
